The instructor roster is a read-only list of members for instructors who don’t have the full Members section. It shows each member’s first name, last initial, and avatar, and never their email, phone, date of birth, address, or tags. Instructors use it to put names to faces and, if you allow it, to see who has a live membership.

When to use it

  • A new coach learning names - a jiu-jitsu instructor checks the roster before their first evening class to recognise the regulars by face.
  • Checking a plan without the front desk - a padel coach whose role can view memberships sees at a glance whose membership expires next week, without access to contact details or billing.
  • Keeping member data private - a gym with freelance coaches lets them see who they teach, while emails and phone numbers stay with the desk.

Who sees it

The roster appears in the sidebar as Members for a staff user who:
  • has an instructor profile,
  • works in the instructor view, meaning their access is limited to their own classes and bookings, and
  • holds the Member directory permission.
Staff who can open the full Members section never see it, so nobody gets two Members entries. The default Instructor role holds Member directory at Own scope, so instructors see the roster out of the box. The scope you grant under Settings > Organization > Permissions decides who is listed: An instructor without the permission who opens the page sees “You don’t have access to the member list.”

What the roster shows

The list opens at /instructor/members, 25 members per page. You can search it by first name.
  • Member - avatar, first name, and last initial.
  • Membership, Status, and Renews / Expires - each live membership’s plan, its status, and Renews or Expires with a date, or Ongoing. A member without one shows No active membership.
The three membership columns appear only when the instructor’s role can also view memberships (Memberships > View in the permissions editor). The default Instructor role can’t, so out of the box the roster shows names only. The roster is read-only. Rows don’t open a profile and have no actions.
