When to use it
Prospective members find you through Google search, your reviews, your website, and AI assistants. The audit shows which of those is holding you back, gives prioritized recommendations, and lets you re-run it later to check whether your changes worked. Typical uses:- See where you stand locally - a padel gym checks its rank against nearby racket-sport venues, based on star rating and review volume.
- Find the gaps in your Google profile - a yoga studio with strong reviews learns its profile lacks a description and opening hours, fills them in on Google, and re-runs the audit.
- Make the case for a website - a jiu-jitsu gym with only a Google listing sees the score it could gain by adding a site.
- Measure a website revamp - a CrossFit box re-runs the audit after relaunching its site and compares the PageSpeed sub-scores.
How it works
The audit runs five analyses - competitor analysis, profile content and optimization, customer reviews and sentiment, AI discoverability, and website performance. Each returns its own 0-100 score, and the overall visibility score out of 100 is the average of the categories that could be measured. Every section ends with concrete, prioritized recommendations. See What the report scores for how each category is measured.Where to find it
The audit lives on the admin Home page, under Grow, as the AI visibility report row of the Online presence card (in the How members find you group). There is no Marketing tab or separate menu item for it. The full, shareable report opens in a dedicated report app in a new browser tab.A report is often generated automatically for you shortly after your organization finishes onboarding, so the row may already show a score the first time you open Home. If it is still generating, the row shows “Generating your AI visibility report…” and refreshes on its own when the report is ready.
Generating a report
When no report exists yet, the row reads “Free report on how search and AI assistants see your club” and shows a Check button.- Open Home and find the AI visibility report row under Grow.
- Click Check. A Find your club name search box opens.
- As you type, pick your business from the Google suggestions so the audit locks onto the correct public listing. Selecting a suggestion attaches the exact Google place, which produces the most accurate report.
- Click Analyze. A new tab opens in the report app and the report builds there step by step (competitors, profile, reviews, AI discoverability, website performance).
- When it finishes, the report is saved and the row shows your score and when it was checked. Open the report again any time with View report.
What the report scores
Each report produces an overall visibility score plus the five category scores below. On Home, the row shows the overall score out of 100.Competitor analysis
Finds up to 10 nearby businesses in your category and ranks you by a composite of star rating and review volume. Your score is your percentile position in that set - rank first and you score 100, last and you score 0. In the full report you can add or remove competitors to fine-tune the comparison set.Profile content and optimization
Grades your public Google profile field by field: business name, description, editorial summary, website, phone, address, opening hours, categories, price level, and attributes. It flags missing or weak fields and suggests improvements (and can even draft rewritten profile copy).Customer reviews and sentiment
Reads your public reviews and returns overall sentiment (positive / neutral / negative), recurring topics, key issues with severity, and standout strengths. Businesses with no reviews score 0 here, which is itself a signal to start collecting them.AI discoverability
Fetches your website and checks how well AI assistants and crawlers can understand it - specifically whether anllm.txt file is present at the site root and whether schema.org structured data (JSON-LD, microdata, or RDFa) is in place. It returns technical factors and prioritized fixes. If your business has no website on file, this category scores 0.
Website performance
Runs Google PageSpeed Insights against your site and averages four sub-scores: Performance, Accessibility, Best practices, and SEO. A site that cannot be measured, or a business with no website, scores 0 here. The score on Home is color-coded: green at 75 and above, amber from 50 to 74, and red below 50. The overall score also maps to a band label (Poor, Fair, Good, Excellent).
Reading the full report
Click View report on the AI visibility report row to open the full report. Beyond the five category sections, the report includes:- Estimated revenue loss - An indicative euro figure for the business you may be leaving on the table, based on how far your overall score sits below 100 and how many sections score below 70. It is a directional estimate, not an exact accounting figure.
- Competitor ranking - A visual ranking against the competitor set, where you can search for and add competitors or remove ones that are not relevant.
- A website prompt - If no website was found, the report shows the score you could gain by adding one and lets you paste a URL to analyze on the spot.
Re-running the audit
Once a report exists, the row shows a Re-run report action (the refresh icon). It reuses the business name and Google place from your most recent report, so you do not have to search again. The new report generates in the background: the row switches to the generating state and updates itself when the fresh report lands. Re-running is the right way to track progress after you have acted on recommendations.Worked examples
Padel club checking its competitive position
A padel club in a busy city wants to know where it stands. The competitor analysis ranks it against nearby racket-sport venues; a low percentile plus a strong reviews score usually means the profile and website need work to convert searchers who are already impressed by the reviews.Yoga studio with great classes but a thin Google profile
A yoga studio scores high on reviews and sentiment but low on profile content. The profile analysis flags a missing description, no opening hours, and few attributes. Filling those in on Google, then re-running the audit, lifts both the profile and AI discoverability scores.Jiu-jitsu gym with no website
A martial-arts gym has a Google listing but no website. AI discoverability and website performance both score 0, and the report surfaces the estimated score boost from adding a site. The gym can publish a site with the website builder, then re-run the audit to capture the lift.CrossFit box comparing before and after a website revamp
A CrossFit box rebuilds its site for speed. Re-running the audit after launch shows the website performance sub-scores (performance, accessibility, best practices, SEO) moving, which quantifies the impact of the revamp.Tips & best practices
- Pick your business from the Google suggestions - Selecting the exact listing (not just typing a name) attaches the correct Google place and produces a far more accurate report.
- Match your public name - Use the same business name your members see on Google so the audit pulls the right profile and reviews.
- Re-run each quarter or after a change - Re-run after a website update, a profile cleanup, or a push to collect reviews, and use the score movement to measure progress.
- Action the recommendations - Each section ends with prioritized actions; hand them to whoever owns your marketing, website, or Google profile.
- Fix the zeros first - A category scoring 0 (no website, no reviews) is usually the fastest, highest-impact thing to change.
Troubleshooting
Issue: The report shows the wrong business or pulls the wrong reviews. Solution: The search matched a different Google listing. Re-run from the empty state, type your name, and pick your business from the Google suggestions so the exact place is attached. Issue: Website performance or AI discoverability scores 0. Solution: Either no website is on file, or your site could not be fetched or measured. Add or correct your website (on your Google profile, or via the in-report prompt), then re-run. Issue: The row is stuck on “Generating your AI visibility report…”. Solution: Generation runs in the background and the row checks for completion. Give it a minute or two. If a run fails, the row falls back to the empty state so you can try again with Check and Analyze. Issue: The overall score looks lower than expected. Solution: The overall score is an average of the categories that could be measured. A single 0 (no website, no reviews) pulls the average down hard. Open the full report to see which category is dragging the score and act on its recommendations.Related
