When to use it
Use it when you want to know which platforms actually drive bookings. The link generator adds UTM tags to your existing portal or website URL - it does not create a new page. When a member follows a tagged link and books, 1Club records the platform, placement, and campaign it came from, with no manual tracking. Platforms include Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, WhatsApp, Google, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or a custom source. Typical uses:- Organic post versus paid ad - a Pilates studio puts one tagged link in its Instagram bio and another in a paid Instagram ad, then compares how many bookings came from each.
- A partner promotion - a climbing gym gives a local outdoor shop a link with its own custom source, and bookings from that link are attributed to the partner.
- Deciding where to spend next time - a padel gym posts the same open-day offer to Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, each with its own tagged link and a shared campaign name, then compares bookings by platform.
Before you start
The link points at one of two destinations:- Member portal - offered when the member portal is turned on. It uses your verified custom portal domain, or your default portal address.
- Website - always offered. It uses your verified custom website domain, or your default website address. Make sure your website is published before you share a link to it.
Generate a booking link
- Go to Settings > Integrations. Social Booking is always listed under Active Integrations as Configured. Click Configure.
- In the Booking link generator, choose a Destination (Member portal or Website). The choice only appears when the member portal is turned on. Otherwise the website is used.
- Choose the Platform you will share the link on. It starts on Instagram.
- Choose the Placement:
- Profile / bio / post (the default) - an organic link in your bio, a post, or a story.
- Paid ad - a link used in a paid social ad.
- Optionally enter a Campaign (optional) name to group everything for one promotion (for example
summer). - The finished link appears under Your link. Click Copy link and paste it wherever you are sharing it.
The generated tags
The generator composes standard UTM tags onto your destination URL so analytics can attribute the booking:Custom sources
Pick Other as the platform when the link is not really social - a newsletter, a partner site, or a printed QR code. The Placement field is replaced by Custom source, where you type the source name yourself. The link is tagged as a referral (utm_medium=referral) instead of organic or paid social.
Where attribution shows up
When a visitor arrives through a tagged link, the portal or website remembers the tags in their browser for 30 days. If they book within that time, the booking is attributed to that source. If they follow several tagged links, the most recent one wins. You can see which platforms drive bookings in the Bookings by source report (Analytics > Bookings > By source), where theutm_source on each booking is broken out for attribution. This closes the loop between what you post and the bookings it produces.
Worked examples
Pilates studio promoting a new reformer block. A studio adds a Book now link to its Instagram bio tagged with Instagram, Profile / bio / post, and the campaignreformer-launch. It also runs a paid Instagram ad using a second link with the Paid ad placement. In analytics it can tell how many bookings came from the organic bio link versus the paid ad.
Climbing gym running a partner promotion. A climbing gym partners with a local outdoor shop. It generates a link with Other as the platform, types outdoor-shop as the custom source, and gives it to the partner to share. Bookings from that link show up attributed to outdoor-shop.
Racket-sports gym comparing channels. A padel gym posts the same open-day offer to Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, each with its own tagged link and the shared campaign name open-day. After the weekend it compares booking counts by platform to decide where to spend next time.
Tips and best practices
- Use a consistent Campaign name across every link for one promotion so the results group together.
- Keep separate links for organic posts and paid ads (the Placement tag) so you can tell earned reach from ad spend apart.
- Point the link at whichever destination members actually book on - the portal if that is where booking happens, the website otherwise.
- Generate a fresh link per channel rather than reusing one everywhere, so each platform’s contribution is measurable.
Troubleshooting
- There is no Destination choice - the member portal is turned off, so links always point at the website. Turn the member portal on to offer it as a destination.
- The website link opens an empty site - your website isn’t published yet. Publish it, or point the link at the member portal.
- The link is not tagged - if you leave the source empty (for example choosing Other without typing a custom source), the generator falls back to the plain destination URL. Fill in the fields to get a tagged link.
- Bookings are not attributed - confirm you shared the generated (tagged) link, not the plain portal or website address. Attribution only works when the member arrives through the tagged link and books within 30 days on the same browser.
